Leonard Pearlstein founded the Confab company in 1955, as a sales and marketing firm under the name Penn Trading. His keen entrepreneurial instinct would eventually lead Pearlstein to engage Weyerhaeuser paper company and jointly enter the private label disposable diaper business. It was 1981 when the company opened its first manufacturing facilities, and not long after that Confab established itself as the leading national supplier of store brands diapers, incontinence and feminine hygiene – going head-to-head with giants like P&G, J&J and Kimberly-Clark and winning market share for retail customers coast-to-coast.
