John Ross, IGA CEO, to Keynote Trade Show

John Ross, president and CEO of IGA, Inc. will be the keynote speaker at the annual trade show in Chicago this coming November.

Ross will address attendees the morning of Monday, Nov. 13 and offer his presentation entitled, “Economics, Global Retailing and the Opportunity for Private Label Growth.” He will focus on changes in consumer behavior based on global data from more than 6,500 IGA stores worldwide. Ross will discuss how new shopping behavior will plot the course for the industry in the short run and guide investment strategies over the long haul.
Ross oversees domestic and global operations for IGA, the world’s largest independent supermarket network.

PLMA’s Private Label Trade Show also features speakers on Sunday afternoon as well as on Tuesday morning. PLMA’s Opening Seminars will have four speakers and will be held on Sunday morning Nov.12.

The opening presentation will be by Marshal Cohen, chief industry advisor, Retail, Circana, who will address “Retail Compression: Private Label’s Big Opportunity.”

Kevin Ryan, the founder/CEO of Malachite Strategy and Research, and his presentation of "Taste of Tomorrow: Forecasting the Future Forces Reshaping Private Label Food" will have the second presentation of the day.

The third presentation will be presented by Sara Williamson, Ph.D., assistant professor, Marketing, SUNY Old Westbury, will reveal key findings from PLMA’s new Gen Z Shopper Survey.

Laureen Schroeder, owner/founder of Bespoke Beauty Partners, will address “What’s Next in Beauty: Top Trends for Innovation.”

The Opening Seminars will be held in the Hyatt Regency O’Hare across the street from the Donald E. Stevens Convention Center. Any attendee to the show is welcome to attend but PLMA requires attendees to have their show badge for admittance.

To start the last day of the show on Tuesday, Nov. 14, Ken Harris, managing partner, Cadent Consulting Group, will be featured at the Retail Trends Breakfast speaker. Harris will identify many of the topics highlighted in the press today to provide a real-world view of what is truly happening with his clients.
