Ed Crenshaw of Publix started his career as a stock clerk for the company his grandfather founded. Ed Crenshaw rose through divisional operations of Publix Super Markets in the 80s, was promoted to executive vice president of retail in the mid-90s, then president, and was named Chief Executive in 2008. The store brands success of the Publix brand could never have been achieved or maintained without its champion… and without the kind of inspiration that reaches from the executive suite to the employees and shoppers in the stores. Shopper surveys routinely ranked Publix among the nation’s best-loved supermarket chains, and it has been listed as one of Fortune magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For" every year since 1998.
