Toilet Paper Sales Start to Slow

After the increased demand for toilet paper in 2020, sales have fallen to below pre-pandemic levels. Sales in January fell more than 4% from the same period a year earlier, according to NielsenIQ.

The decline could indicate that the stockpiling many consumers engaged in last year is starting to influence sales. In 2020, sales of toilet paper grew to $11 billion, over $2 billion in sales from their average annual sales, according to NielsenIQ. Toilet paper sales were also down about 14% in February and 33% in March, according to NielsenIQ.
