The Kroger Co. has started a new supply service for local restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
The new service is called Kroger Restaurant Supply and it is offering local operators fresh food with consistent wholesale pricing as well as next-day delivery. According to Kroger, the service offers opportunities to buy items by the case or unit and seven-days-per-week delivery, The company said the new service will help local restaurants keep its customers favorite items on the menu.
“Running a restaurant has always been difficult, and today it feels like it’s harder than ever,” Jay Scherger, director of the Kroger Technology & Digital/E-Commerce Accelerator said in a statement. “This new service will bring our fresh assortment directly to regional businesses, all at consistent prices, product availability and delivery cadence they can count on.”
Potential Kroger Restaurant Supply customers include not only regional restaurants but also local bakeries and catering companies. Restaurants and other foodservice customers can arrange their orders through the website Kroger has set up specifically for this venture. The website will offer a “wide-range product assortment” and will be geared toward smaller, more frequent orders, allowing businesses a “flexibility that you won’t find with other comparable food suppliers,” according to the company.
