PLMA's University Outreach provides a comprehensive overview of retailing and store brand development, both in the U.S. and internationally. The program covers the role of store brand manufacturers and the retail chains that sell them, generational marketing, e-commerce trends, and includes a tour of nearby stores with exemplary private label programs.
What makes the program truly unique is the mentorship phase, which pairs each student one-on-one with an exhibiting manufacturer representative for part of the day. This experience also allows students to shadow a retail buyer, gaining hands-on exposure to strategic business operations in real time.
